As a college student, my daily uniform often consisted of track pants and sneakers. I was the queen of casual, and with good reason. Getting from the dorms to class could take half an hour on foot, and then there was that poorly scheduled or located class that was twenty minutes away but started ten minutes after my previous class ended. Lots of exercise, indeed. Sneakers were practically mandatory with that much walking, and not surprisingly, I developed quite the sneaker collection in college. Adidas, Fila, Reebok, Nike... I collected all the brands. While my footwear preferences have expanded since my college days, my love for sneakers has remained constant. So when I saw the Fila Disruptor 2 sneakers in my local shoe store, I had a flashback to the '90s (and my Fila-wearing days) and I knew I had to try them on and share my thoughts on fit and sizing in a review.

The Fila Disruptor II sneakers have a chunky Buffalo London silhouette that's right in line with all things '90s right now. While the Disruptors have actually been around since the '90s, celebrities like Emily Ratajkowski have recently been spotted wearing them. The traction sole (reminiscent of hiking boots) makes them stand out from other sneaker styles, and adds about 2" of height. Why the popularity? They are priced well under $75, are super comfortable, and are made of leather. Plus, they channel that on-trend dad sneaker vibe and Balenciaga Triple S look for so much less. The price point of $65-$75 makes them widely affordable, if you're lucky enough to be able to find them in your preferred size and color.
The classic white pair is versatile enough to wear with all kinds of denim, dresses and athletic attire. The chunky molded sawtooth tread and EVA midsole makes them suitable for active pursuits, while the soles feel light and slightly springy on the feet. They have lots of texture, with prominent branding, a padded tongue, and raised eyelets. They manage to make your feet look small due to the chunky shape. This pink pair in on my radar right now, and I'm also eyeing this fun script style. See more colors and styles here.
Sizing
As for sizing, the Fila Disuptors for Women run a little small in length. I'm a U.S. size 7, and when I tried it on, I found the toe box and the width to be fine, but I'd go up half a size for length, especially if you plan on wearing them with socks. For thick socks, I'd even go up a full size.
